If Congress Really Cared About Terrorism, They Would Time Travel to Stop It

By Thomas Brown—on Easter Sunday this year, more than 300 people were killed in what appear to be coordinated acts of terror by Islamic extremists in Sri Lanka. This tragedy is a horrible display of the times in which we live, and another shocking reminder of how tribalism gets us nowhere. Naturally, as soon as the details of the attacks began to emerge, the media paid lip service to the victims and condemned "hate" generally, but it has become increasingly clear since the toppling of the twin towers that our leaders do not really care about victims of extremism. If they did, they would do everything in their power to prevent these tragedies. It's time for the people of the United States and the rest of the world to face the simple facts. We are not supporting our intelligence and law enforcement authorities properly to give them the resources they need to prevent these kinds of attacks. Sure, they have headquarters and satellites or whatever, but when is the last time we heard a representative propose a bill that would fund the construction of a vehicle or device that made time travel possible? This is the obvious solution that our supposed "representatives" are too politically correct to face. Sure, Congress will repeatedly condemn violence and fund the NSA, CIA, FBI, and other agencies who work to uncover threats, but we are only scratching the surface. When are we going to get serious about truly preventing all acts of terror through the formation of a team of specialists capable of traveling back in time to apprehend the suspects before the attack ever takes place? It's not complicated, people—once it's clear who carried out the attacks, we send a team of young and attractive agents who are well-trained in all manner of hand-to-hand combat and tactical warfare, back in time to locate and stop the people planning the attack. These agents each have an interesting and tragic backstory which explains why they joined the team and are so dedicated to its mission. Sometimes they take their work home with them, and struggle with the ethics of punishing people for what they haven't yet done, but welcome to 2019. How much longer will we sit idly by and let the monsters among us prey on the innocent? It's time that we get serious about fighting back with the full fury of the United States. Let's show these cowards who we are!
