He's Really Dead This Time

The passing of Dieter Fingerle on Monday of this week was met with much disbelief from those who knew him, but the coroner absolutely confirmed that it is indeed his body, and that he is most definitely dead this time.

Determined not to make that mistake again, his family delayed scheduling the funeral for a few extra days, and even confirmed that Dieter was actually dead by getting a second opinion from the family doctor. Following that opinion, the family is now pretty comfortable getting the coffin from last time out of storage, wiping off the dust, and doing this whole thing all over again.

His children and wife are unsure how to feel during this difficult time of loss, but are grateful that they've each had their remarks prepared for years, and have even been able to practice them on more than one occasion, even in front of who is likely to be the same audience members, for the most part.

The funeral, scheduled for Tuesday at 1:00 p.m. is expected to be somewhat sparsely attended, as many people are familiar with the old story of the Boy Who Cried Wolf, but the family emphasizes that they are about as certain as they can get that this is the last time they'll need to do this, and so they'd really appreciate even a brief appearance.

The family promise that they are receiving hourly check-ins from the undertaker on Dieter's condition, and there's been no change as of Monday, so this thing has got the green light, and then we can all put this behind us.
