Family and friends of Brock California announce with deepest sadness his sudden death on Monday after he attempted to end his relationship with singer Taylor Swift.
Brock was an aspiring actor whose brief-but-passionate romance with Swift came to a close just moments before he was strangled and bludgeoned to death with what appears to be a Grammy award.
Although the precise events surrounding his death remain under investigation, it is clear that Brock had intended to end his relationship with Swift Monday evening, and that he was pronounced dead on arrival inside Swift's apartment just 14 minutes after he was seen entering it.
The singer is no stranger to the breakup, as she has had multiple, often short-lived romances, and is known to frequently write songs about her exes. Some speculate that this particular breakup finally sent her over the edge, driving her into a homicidal rage, although that remains for investigators and, perhaps, a jury to decide. It does seem odd to many, however, that she immediately locked herself in her studio after Brock's body was removed, and she can be heard pounding on the piano and screaming.
Although Swift is not expected to attend the funeral, all are welcome at St. Jude's cathedral at 10:45 a.m., with a brief reception to follow at Brock's parents' home.
